Aylesbury is a busy bustling town which has lots of modern buildings, there is a small part of Aylesbury though which has some charming historic buildings including a historic pub, the King’s Head which dates back to 1455 and is partly under the protection of the National Trust.  The most visited section of Aylesbury is situated around St. Mary's Church, where one can still find several Georgian style buildings. Here you will also find the popular Buckinghamshire County museum and other art galleries. Nearby Aylesbury there are a number of National Trust properties that you may wish to visit whilst on a cottage break.  If you love seeing large country houses or mansions then take a visit to Waddesdon Manor with its turrets and grandeur.  Or take a drive out to Claydon House through beautiful countryside and enjoy the wonderful setting of this property.  The Carriage House restaurant at Claydon House is considered by some to be the best in the whole of Buckinghamshire.  Also in Buckinghamshire are Stowe and Stowe Landscape Gardens, which are best enjoyed in the summer months when you can enjoy walking around from folly to folly.
