This thatched country cottage holiday home in Manaccan Cornwall brings to mind phrases such as quaint, charming, picture book, idyllic.

Located in a rural area surrounded by unbroken views of fields and hedgerows, this 16th Century cottage is a delight. Pink climbing roses ramble around the front door and when you enter, you find yourself in a heavily beamed room with white-washed walls and a large log burner at one end. Loose cover sofas and easy chairs are arranged around the room offering a cosy place to sit and relax after a day out.

The spacious dining kitchen has a table that seats six and a full range of appliances for easy self-catering including a dishwasher, a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The cottage sleeps up to six people in its three bedrooms – all of which have comfortable beds and quality bedlinen. Two of the bedrooms are king-size and one is a twin room. All bedrooms are of a good size and have slight sloping walls under the eaves that just add character.

The property has a few really nice features such as a claw-footed free standing bath and a stained glass window that throws coloured light onto the stairs.

The garden is laid to lawn and has a picnic table should anyone wish to eat outdoors. This may suit families with young children. Eating a picnic outside can be good fun for kids. A family may bring their dog to enjoy the holiday with them.

The small village of Manaccan is surrounded by farmland. Narrow lanes both in and outside the village are typical of this part of south Cornwall. Manaccan is not as far south as the Lizard but enjoys the wonderful growing climate that has resulted in splendid gardens and wild flowers. A lazy discovery holiday is recommended. Walk the country lanes, enjoy the views, take sailing trips on the coast, visit beaches and discover ancient pubs.
