Creswell is a village town located in the county of Derbyshire in England. The town is popular for interesting places such as Creswell Model Village and Creswell Crags that attracts a lot of travellers from different parts of the world, to enjoy self-catering holidays. The development and industrialization of the town started with the establishment of coal mining industries in the last decade of the 19th century, which also had drastic effect on the nearby areas.
The beautiful landscape of the town of Creswell was very much affected by the coal mining industries because of air pollution and other wastes produced by it. In the mid 20th century, the village had only one main English parish church along with two chapels of Baptist and Methodist. In the late 1950s the Roman Catholic Church was built here.
The popular attractions in Creswell include the Bolsover Castle, which is a 17th century mansion and was also voted as one of Britain’s favourite national treasure. In the middle of the busy city centre, is the peaceful Cathedral Church of St Marie. Visitors can also find several art and gift shops around the regions like Teversal Manor and The Manor Gift Shop. You can also find several self-catering accommodation options in the form of villas, small cottages and apartments.
