Self catering holidays in Tiverton - Devon

Tiverton is just 10 minutes' drive from West Pitt Farm and offers a range of shops, markets and cafes and restuarants.   It is in the heart of rural Devon where two rivers, The Exe and Lowman meet and was once a thriving centre for the woollen industry.

Tiverton has a town trial, castle and museum to visit.  There are excellent market days where local produce and products can be found.  Heathcoat's textile factory which has been in operation since 1816 has a factory shop open to the public where a wide range of lovely fabrics can be purchased.

The Grand Western Canal is well worth a visit for canal walks or a horse drawn barge trip.  Cycle hire is available too.  There is fishing, bird watching and the Devon Badger Watch locally.  At Knightshayes Court, a fine Victorian house which is now a National Trust property, there are formal and woodland gardens, a kitchen garden and lots of events throughout the year for all the family to enjoy.
