Go upmarket with a high quality 5 star country cottages at the Old Stables near Winterborne Stickland, Dorset. The Old Stables is a single storey holiday accommodation, part of Hedge End Farm Country Cottages. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and is dog-friendly. This cottage is one of six that is set around a lawned central courtyard on a working farm. The rural nature of these holiday homes ensures country walks from the doorstep.
The Old Stables and adjoining cottages have all been designed with holiday living in mind. Open-plan living, dining and kitchens create an inviting space with exposed beams , oak floors and vaulted ceilings. There is a log burner which holidaymakers always enjoy for that warm glow. An initial supply of logs is provided.
Sleeping arrangements in the Old Stable are as follows: one king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, two twin bedrooms plus a separate main bathroom with a bath and a hand-held shower.
The Old Stable shares a games room with the other cottages. Two dogs are welcome with guests by arrangement. There is WiFi available but not superfast.
A stay at Hedge End Cottages is convenient for anyone who desires a high standard of holiday accommodation in the lovely Dorset countryside not far from the south coast. The scenery is a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, pleasantly green and studded with woodlands.
The village of Winterborne Stickland features a number of ancient cottages and a 13th century parish church. This is a lovely holiday destination for people who adore thatch, medieval villages and oodles of history. It lies between the village of Milton Abbas, famous for its Benedictine Monastery and row of identical thatched cottages separated by chestnut trees and nearest big market town of Blandford Forum to the east. A historical fair is re-enacted every two years in Milton Abbas which features traditional Morris dancers with their bells and sticks, stalls, music and demonstrations of rural life.
