Newent is a small medeival market town which is approximately 3 miles from Orchard Barn and The Poppies.

There is a small supermarket which sells lots of local produce, 2 mini markets, a friendly post office, two award winning butchers, a bakers, pharmacy and many other good local shops for all your day to day requirements.

Park in the main car park and you can take a walk round the lake which was part of the old mansion house and watch the many ducks and swans.
