Broadstairs offers miles of sheltered sandy bays - perfect for families with children. The chalky cliffs north of Broadstairs afford views over the Thames estuary and Isle of Thanet. Broadstairs has strong associations with Charles Dickens. Dickens lived for a period in Broadstairs and wrote David Copperfield during his stay. Visitors to the town in June can enjoy a Dickens Festival with locals dressed in period costume. There are two Dickens museums to visit; Dickens House and Bleak House.
