Spalding is famous for being the market garden of England. Its fields supply shops and supermarkets with home grown produce. Spring in Spalding offers bulb field attractions to rival those in Holland. There is an annual flower festival with a flower parade at the end of April. The flower heads discarded by the growers are used to produce fantastic colourful floats. A flower queen is chosen to grace a float with her attendants. The parade is accompanied by marching bands, vintage bikes and various activities to provide a spring spectacular for visitors to Spalding.
