Beacons Rest is the perfect little getaway for a couple looking to explore the Brecon Beacons and mid Wales. This delightful studio apartment is located in the hamlet of Fennifach, near to the River Usk. Neatly attached to the owner’s home, the apartment has a kitchenette with fold away table, one double bed and a shower room with basin and WC. A private decked balcony with furniture provides a lovely, little spot to relax with a drink and enjoy stunning, scenic views. You can also relish the tranquillity in the shared lawn and gardens of your retreat. The studio is just two miles from Brecon, a historical, market town with a Norman cathedral, interesting architecture, quaint shop fronts and a theatre. The town is on both the river Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal and trips are available on both waterways. Brecon is also, of course, the gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park where excellent walks and rambling await you on a self-catering holiday.

Local attractions: The town of Brecon, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park has Georgian and Jacobean architecture, a cathedral, museums, a theatre, a cinema, shops, restaurants and pubs. The stunning Brecon Beacons National Park is a haven for walkers and cyclists, with breathtaking countryside, waterfalls and caves. Also with the National Park are market towns, castles, and monuments, plus relaxing activities, such as pony trekking, and a ride on the Brecon steam railway. Within driving distance is the town of Hay-on-Wye with its many book and antique shops, plus the towns of Abergavenny and Builth Wells are well worth exploring. Brecon is an ideal base from which to explore the area.
