Bryn Howell Stables are a brick converted rural building that has been finished to a high standard. It set amongst farmland, just off the Llangollen Road in Trevor and has pleasing views all around. To the front of the house is a walled and fenced lawn and a patio with garden furniture and BBQ to the rear. There are plenty of country walks directly from the house, also canal-side walks by the Shropshire Union Canal where there are always brightly coloured long boats to see, swans and ducks. This is a great place to walk a dog and pets are most welcome at Bryn Howell Stables.
Guests may wish to note that there is fishing on the nearby Rover Dee and that fishing tackle can be hired by arrangement with the cottage owner.
Inside the Accommodation
The overall impression of the house is a neat, well maintained and easy on the eye self-catering holiday home. Care has been taken to co-ordinate soft furnishings and to provide adequate seating in the sitting room and at the dining table for six people. A log burner in the sitting room adds a welcome touch.
Underfloor oil central heating keeps the house warm in the kitchen and hall. The oak kitchen offers a range of domestic appliances, including a dishwasher. There is no tumble dryer although there is a washing machine. Please check the list of facilities for details.
One of the three bedrooms is a king-size and has the advantage of its own en-suite shower room. The two twin bedrooms share the family bathroom which has a bath in addition to a separate shower cubicle.
Bryn Howell Stables is a good honest country cottage in a peaceful part of Wales, near Llangollen. It would be very good for an family looking for a rural break and happy to potter around the countryside, look at the Pontsycyllte Aqueduct, take photographs and perhaps hire a boat for the day on the canal.
Snowdonia is just over 45 minutes drive away, the Roman City of Chester 25 miles, so there are various places to go for day trips should the desire arise.
