America Lodge is a beautiful 19th century farmhouse available to rent in England's smallest county. Set overlooking the Chater valley with views of classic rolling English countryside in a charming and secluded setting with large garden and patio area. Ideal for those seeking a quiet rural retreat. It is close to the historic market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford which have some unique shops . Very close to the Eyebrook reservoir and Rutland Water which provides excellent water sports and angling as well as a first class nature reserve. There are also some very nice local golf courses and opportunities for horse riding. Convenient for seasonal attractions such as the British Bird Fair, Burghley Horse Trials and Shakespeare at Tolethorpe.

Burghley House is a supreme example of Elizabethan architecture and also worth a visit is Rockingham Castle with its spectacular views over five counties.

There are endless opportunities for walking along quiet footpaths and picturesque villages - it as adjacent to the MacMillan Way which passes by the old site of Martinsthorpe Priory and along the shores of Rutland Water There are excellent hostelries in the nearby village of Braunston.
