Burgundy France for holidaysGo on holiday to the Champagne region of France; stay in a self-catering cottage, gîte, house or château for a comfortable stay with private accommodation and perhaps your own garden for barbeqes and informal dining.

The Champagne-Ardenne region is, of course, world famous as the home of
champagne. Even the most passionate wine lovers will be overwhelmed by the
number of champagne tastings and vineyards tours. Champagne can be tasted in
cellars in the main towns of Reims and Epernay or out on the vineyards where 86
small producers make their own unique bubbly.

Reims is a city with a very special past. It was here that Kings of France were crowned. The gothic Cathedrale Notre Dame, immortalised in history as the place where Joan of Arc accompanied Charles VII to his coronation, stills stands. Come to the Place Drouet rquote Erlon for a leisurely stroll along the pedestrianised street or to stop for coffee and creme brulee in one of the many street cafes. Reims has a rich architectural heritage including several medieval churches and a Roman arch. There are small museums dedicated to champagne production and many specialist shops.
