Self-catering accommodation - France - Champagne-Ardenne
The Champagne-Ardenne region is, of course, world famous as the home of Reims is a city with a very special past. It was here that Kings of France were crowned. The gothic Cathedrale Notre Dame, immortalised in history as the place where Joan of Arc accompanied Charles VII to his coronation, stills stands. Come to the Place Drouet rquote Erlon for a leisurely stroll along the pedestrianised street or to stop for coffee and creme brulee in one of the many street cafes. Reims has a rich architectural heritage including several medieval churches and a Roman arch. There are small museums dedicated to champagne production and many specialist shops. As might be expected, there are no shortage of fine restaurants in Champagne-Ardenne. Local specialities include breaded pigs' feet, or for the slightly less adventurous, champagne seasoned ham followed by Reims gingerbread. Whether you come for a short-break or a longer stay, there is plenty to satisfy the senses in Champagne-Ardenne.
