The village of Dorchester lies north west of Wallingford near the A4074. It was a Roman walled town at one point and still retains an ancient abbey that's worth a look. There are several period buildings in the village, a museum, pubs, restaurants and antique shops. It's generally a pleasant place for a walk and pub lunch.
