Faringdon is a bustling market town near the A420 in the Vale of the White Horse in the south west of Oxfordshire. It has a good shopping centre, leisure centre, golf courses, churches, pubs, schools, a museum, and numerous amenities. There are many splendid Georgian buildings near the 17th century Town Hall. The name Faringdon means 'hill covered with ferns'. It's built on the North Berkshire Ridge which is composed of limestone and sandstone. One area known as the Farindgon Sponge Bed contains many marine fossils. Fossils of sea urchins and sponges have been found.

	Cosy stone walled and thatched detached cottage (sleeps 1-3) in the heart of this pretty village on the edge of the Cotswolds. There is a comfortable sitting room with uninterrupted views across the garden and onto open countryside. The cottage is completely open-plan with a spiral staircase (not safe for toddlers) to the twin bedroom. There is an additional double bed-settee although the cottage would be cramped with more than two adult guests. The kitchen is simple with an electric hob, fridge and microwave. The toilet and shower room is downstairs. Electric heating is provided at no additional charge. No smoking is allowed inside this property.
