Plaistow is a small village in the Chichester District of West Sussex. The village has a shop, a pub, The Sun Inn and an Anglican Church set out around the village green and pond, and has retained its old world charm and sleepy character. An ideal base for a self catering holiday exploring the area, Plaistow is close to the many places of interest and local beauty spots that abound in this part of West Sussex. The National Trust owns much of what remains of the abundant forest and also nearby Black Down, Marley Common, and the Devil’s Punch Bowl at Hindhead, all of which are within easy reach and well worth a visit.

Along the coast where the South Downs meet the sea, the high chalk cliffs dominate. Further west along the coast Bognor Regis has been a center for seaside relaxation for over 200 years. Over half of the county is protected countryside, offering walking on the South Downs, through bluebell woods and ancient royal forests, or be inspired by the glorious gardens of the Sussex Weald. Look out for birds and other wildlife in the nature reserves and country parks dotting the county.
