The village is close to Billericay - a small country town with strong US connections. London, Canterbury, Cambridge, Colchester and "Constable Country" can all be reached within an hour by road. There is a fast rail link to London (30 - 40 minutes), less than 1 hour from London. A regular bus service is available close by. Whilst a car is not essential, it would enhance your enjoyment. Derbyshire	Tor View Cottage
	In August 1771 Richard Arkwright began building in Cromford. He created the world’s first successful water powered cotton spinning mill it is now a World Heritage site. Relax and walk in the Peak District. Beautiful central village cottage made of old stone (exposed) with beams, newly renovated with modern luxury facilities including a whirlpool.  The cottage is situated in the centre of the village with 3 pubs, 1 restaurant, Butchers, chemist, grocers and post office/newsagent all in a minutes stroll. There is also the world famous Scarthin books which also has a vegetarian cafe.  Dogs are made welcome at Tor View. ideally situated for walks on the canal or in the peak district (Chatsworth House is s a must). Matlock is 15 min walk if you require a more lively night out. Sleeps 8.  Half-term, Easter, summer breaks ideal.
