Self-catering holiday accommodation Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire

Steeple Ashton in Wiltshire is a small village built around a green, one of the former 'wool towns' where sheep, wool and cloth were the main industry in the middle ages. There are still several good examples of buildings remaining from this time including the Church of St. Mary.

There is an interesting pub that doubles as a post office and sells stamps and a range of other services over the bar. Both French and English food is served.

A bus service from Steeple Ashton runs to Devizes and Trowbridge. If you have your own transport then you will be able to explore the countryside and visit the numerous places of historical and cultural interest in the area. The prehistoric sites of Wiltshire including the world famous Stonehenge, Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill, The Wandsdyke, Kennet Longbarrow and the many White Horses of the County are just a short drive away.

The Roman city of Bath is only 12 miles distant. It's a brilliant place to visit for both the Roman Baths and Pump House, architecture, night life, shopping, and for the plentiful tourist attractions within Bath itself.
