Mountainous
Snowdonia is Wales' largest national park and covers about 845sq. miles of majestic
scenery stretching all the way to Cardigan Bay. The landscape of mountains,
valleys, rivers and lakes is cris-crossed with myriads of walks for people of
all abilities. Mount Snowdon at 3560 feet is the highest mountain in Wales and
the views from the peak are superb. A narrow gauge rack and pinion railway transfers
the less energetic to the top.
There are numerous visitor
attractions in Snowdonia that you can visit on your holiday including a lead
mine trail through Gwydyr Forest, the eccentric Italiante village of Portmeirion,
spectacular waterfalls at Conwy Falls and Fairy Glen Ravine. Lots of sporting
activities and the national park teems with wildlife.
