Delphi is an amazing town with an ancient archaeological site and museum in mainland Greece. It's a small town a couple of hours drive north west of Athens just under the Parnassos Mountains about 7 km from the popular ski resort of Arahova.

Both the town and the archaeological site are built up the steeply sloping hillsides surrounded by paradisiacal countryside strewn with carpets of wild flowers. Delphi is well known for the Oracle that prophesied the future in mysterious terms, often verse.

Today, people visit Delphi to view the ruins of a great spiritual sanctuary with temples to Apollo and Athena, an ampitheatre, numerous other buildings and treasuries all surmounted by a stadium where the Pythian Games were held. Nature has reclaimed this magical place - wild flowers bloom among the fallen rocks and in clefts in walls.
