We do not usually require air conditioning in the Uk except for a handful of days in the south when heat and humidity arrive together. There are numerous holiday destinations where air conditioning is absolutely essential for comfort. Mediterranean destinations can be extremely hot during the summer when temperatures can rise into the 40s. Some people love sweltering on hot beaches but most of us prefer cool rooms to sleep in.
