County Wicklow cottages, self-catering holidaysCounty Wicklow, on the east of the Republic of Ireland, has a lengthy coastline and spectacular mountain scenery. It's known as the 'Garden of Ireland' because of its agricultural heritage.

Bray, a seaside town with a mile of sandy beach and an esplanade, is the main town in the north of County Wicklow, close to Dublin. There are regular bus and train services to the city of Dublin.

The TV series Ballykissangel was filmed in and around the village of Avoca in County Wicklow. If you were a fan of the series, you might wish to have a drink in the same pub and view familiar streets.


There are plenty of Irish pubs with traditional music in County Wicklow. It's a great place to come; to explore the east of Ireland, meet the Irish, enjoy the conversation and 'crack', and taste the local cuisine.
