There are numerous shops selling surf boards and offering tuition. The beach is deep and sandy, lined with sand dunes.  It can be quite windy, so do bring your windbreak and kites.

The village is picturesque with quaint thatched cottages, palm trees in gardens and a large number of self-catering holiday lets and holiday homes.

You will find a cafe, post office, general stores and popular ice cream shop on the main road running through Croyde. There is a swimming pool in the village.

Parking can be a bit of a problem with limited car parks. There are several paths offering a safe and car free  route to the beach from the west side of Croyde.

There are public toilets, changing facilities and a tea shop close to the beach.
