Self catering holidays in Madrid

Madrid, is Spain's capital city.  Although not as arty as Barcelona, Madrid with its majestic buildings has lots of sightseeing opportunities for visitors to enjoy during a self catering city break.  Madrid is an exciting European city to visit for a short break. Self catering accommodation in Madrid, as with cities throughout the world, tends to be in apartments.  As with many large cities nowadays there is now a hop on hop off bus which allows you to see the sites of Madrid relatively easily.  Two different routes operate.  There are a number of museums and palaces to see in Madrid.  Madrid also has Botanical gardens where you can enjoy visiting this oasis in the city.  

Whilst in Madrid remember to try out some tapas and sangria, a great combination.  There are plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy eating and drinking al fresco.  La Plaza Mayor is Madrid’s grand square and a great place to sit out on an evening and watch the world go by.  Don’t miss the shopping opportunities at nearby Puerta del Sol.

A speciality in terms of entertainment in Madrid is flamenco, don’t miss the chance to see some expressive flamenco dancing if you get the opportunity.
