The Tallow Factory is a beautiful 16th century timber-framed cottage in the heart of Dedham village. It was featured in a BBC programme on holiday cottages in England.

Adjoining is a beautiful wooden kitchen fully equipped with all modern appliances including microwave and dishwasher. This leads to another comfortable lounge area with TV & video, opening on to a garden. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms (3 double, 2 twin) to sleep 10 plus with 2 ensuite and 2 family bathrooms (3.5 bathrooms in total) bathrooms fitted with bath and shower. The Tallow Factory is in a tranquil courtyard, just off Dedham High Street. The Stour River provides boating and charming walks, especially to Flatford Mill and the estuary town of Manningtree.
The beaches of Frinton and Clacton are 30 minutes away. There are 6 excellent, well priced restaurants in walking distance. The nearby towns of Colchester (6 miles) and Ipswich (12 miles) provide extensive shops, museums, theatres, cinemas, swimming pools, rollerskating, quasar laser, game centres etc.
East Anglia's charming small towns Lavenham, Long Melford, Aldeburgh, Southwold, even Cambridge are within easy reach. Dedham is one of East Anglia's prettiest villages, yet also has thriving shops and services. It was featured in Restoration Village and the presenter loved it. Yards away from Tallow are a grocer, a delicatessen, a butcher, a chemist, a Post Office, an Arts Centre,4 gourmet restaurants and two pubs serving good pub food. The village green has playing fields, tennis courts, and and attractive children's play ground.
