In a quiet rural setting this substantial self-catering cottage is one of three that have been renovated from a farmhouse and farm buildings dating back to the 18th century. Situated close to Kirkby Lonsdale, this holiday home has been sympathetically modernised, retaining many of its original features and much of its charm. A huge stone fireplace with wood burner dominates the cosy, beamed sitting room and stone features add even more to its appeal. The practical kitchen includes a dining area and there is a shower room with WC and basin. An additional WC and basin is on the ground floor. The cottage has two lovely double bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities, and one twin room. A lawned garden to the front of the cottage includes furniture and a barbeque for outdoor living in good weather. The grounds on which the three properties stand include grass and floral areas and a natural dell, through which flows a babbling brook on its way to the river Lune. Glorious countryside surrounds the immediate area. This could be a great base from which to discover the highlights of the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District National Park or the Trough of Bowland on days out.

This charming and historic town was mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book and holds a market charter from the 13th Century. This market continues on a weekly basis every Thursday and offers a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive shops in the town as well as the many 17th and 18th Century buildings. The picturesque Lune Valley was popular with the artist Turner and is host to the medieval Devil's Bridge that spans the river. There is a wealth of quiet country lanes in the area that are ideal for exploring by car, bike or even on horseback.
