If you are looking for a dogs welcome rural retreat holiday cottage near Lough Derg in Ireland, then this smart three bedroom three shower room holiday home may be exactly what you want. This cottage stands within a beautifully maintained garden with a large amount of parking space on the driveway in front.

Inside, the accommodation is spacious and bright and allows a family plenty of room to relax, cook and eat together for a self-catering holiday. The décor is pastel-hued and gentle calming shades. Sofas stand facing a television and a wood burner in the sitting room. Stairs lead up to two of the bedrooms, a king-size and a twin bedroom. The third bedroom, another good sized king-size room is located on the ground floor.

The kitchen is a generous size with fitted units and a built-in double oven and hob. All holidaymakers would make good use of the tall fridge/freezer for their wine, beer and holiday food. There are benches and a trestle table to eat at. A washing machine and tumble dryer is in a laundry room outside the cottage.

The two bedrooms upstairs are attractively presented and contain beds with bed-side tables beside them.

Perfect for dog owners, this cottage is surrounded by tranquil countryside just a short walk away from the lake. Holidaymakers are permitted to borrow the owner’s rowing boat if they wish.

The Old Village Barn is located towards the west side of Lough Derg between the villages of Woodford and Portumna. The Portumna Forest Park is a beautiful woodland for mountain biking and nature walks; deer may be spotted.

All you need is some lovely weather and a wonderful country holiday near Lough Derg in County Galway could be yours. The lake is a renowned good fishing location which should appeal to the anglers amongst us. There are also very nice walks around it and pleasant eateries to stop at and enjoy.
