Looking to find a holiday home in a village or town in Somerset, near Somerton? The small town of Langport is large enough to have essential amenities for holidaymakers and is surrounded by farmland.  The River Parrett runs through the town and offers pleasant walks along the riverside path through lush meadows edged by weeping willow.

Langport can be a very nice place to stay if you can find an available country cottage or smart town house.  Booking comfortable accommodation is the basic essential for any good holiday. We all need good beds, a living room with a TV, enough bedrooms and bathrooms to suit all members of our party and preferably WiFi as well. Any dog owners may also need a fully fenced garden.

Some of the cottage gardens in Langport are edged by picket fences which give properties that rustic feel. Much of the town is leafy and green with flower-filled gardens. One can thank the English for their green-fingered skills and love of horticulture.

The road south out of Langport leads to a few historic buildings to visit: Muchelney Abbey, the Priest’s House and an Almonry Barn. Further down the road is a Potter’s studio and a little way west is Shakespeare Glass where holidaymakers could invest in a quality souvenir of Somerset.  There are lots of places of interest out and about.

Langport is very centrally located for days out to Yeovil, Wells, Wookey Hole, Glastonbury, Bridgwater and Taunton. A stay in Langport would give holidaymakers new to the area, a great insight into Somerset life.
