Eye is yet another ancient town that goes back to the Romans and beyond. Oozing with history and ancient buildings, there is a castle motte with ruins, a church with a remarkable flushwork tower just over 100 ft. tall, a 16th century guildhall and several crinkle-crankle buildings with serpentine brick walls.
