What Yorkshire Offers for Walking Holidays

Yorkshire is a fantastic place to visit for a walking holiday in England, and there is plenty of self-catering accommodation available to rent in this historical county. Yorkshire is filled with stunning places of natural beauty and incredible scenery to soak up, and there are plenty of places to visit where you can go walking every day, or even hike up hills and mountains. There are sweeping areas of completely unspoilt countryside in Yorkshire in places such as the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, which are both fantastic to rent a cottage or a house to enjoy the delights of these places with your loved ones.

The North York Moors is a National Park located in North Yorkshire and home to incredible heather moorland, one of the largest in the UK. Taking walks through these atmospheric backdrops is a great way to see the moors for yourself, and there are plenty of trails and special walks that can be taken here including the Cleveland Way which even goes along the coastline. The sandy bays of the coast in this National Park are a must-see, especially the Cleveland Hills which has become a Heritage Coast.

The Yorkshire Dales offers as much incredible scenery as the North York Moors, and is home to pretty river valleys and soaring hills. There are also a collection of eerie caves made from limestone which are open to the public for tours and are fantastic to see.

If you love walking then Yorkshire is a truly brilliant place in which to rent self-catering accommodation so you can explore the wonders of this county by foot.
