Find self-catering accommodation in the city of York and have an exciting holiday in one of Yorkshire's most prominent tourist cities. We have holiday accommodation to rent in York and nearby. Holiday lettings outside the city will be slightly less expensive and there are some superb places to stay such as pine lodges set in small holiday parks and cottages in the country lanes. Staying in a rural area on the outskirts of York can be a lovely experience as long as holidaymakers have transport or the accommodation is near public transport. All cottages and pine lodges are of a high standard, ready and waiting to provide a cosy holiday home for guests. Cottages with a back garden and barbecue can be especially desirable during the summer for people who like to make the most of sunny weather and eat outdoors. It is also most useful to have self-catering accommodation with a kitchen where one can prepare packed lunches to take out for a day's sightseeing in York. There are plenty of tea shops and eateries, however, money may not stretch to eating our every day and holidaymakers may prefer to spend their spare holiday funds on a souvenir to bring home or for a boat trip through York or entry to the Jorvik attraction.

York is not a huge city so that it is perfectly easy to drive into and park for the day. The old city within the city walls is the big tourist attraction that everyone heads for, there are winding lanes of the Shambles, period buildings, ancient churches, the impressive Minster and reams of history to explore.
