The most important item in any holiday cottage is a comfortable bed. No one is able to really enjoy their Exmoor holiday unless they get a good night’s sleep. We all expect to be as rested and as bright as a daisy on holiday before we go out to roam the moors or explore the villages of Exmoor.

Now, how can holidaymakers find out whether an Exmoor house or pine lodge they hope to rent has beds that allow a good night’s sleep? There are only two ways:

Ask the accommodation provider directly. They will know what type of beds they have purchased, whether soft, medium or orthopaedic. Most holiday cottages would have a comfortable mattress that suits the majority of people.

The other way is to trawl through reviews. Most people only take the time to post a review of something was to their dissatisfaction and one can assume that there is no problem with the bed comfort if there is no mention.

Our recommendation would be to ask the holiday cottage owner, they will have had feedback from previous guests and will be aware.
