Self-catering cottage break in Ireland with a gas hob and electric oven

Booking a holiday house in Ireland and want somewhere that has a gas hob and electric oven in the kitchen, similar to what you have in your own home?

Many people consider a gas hob and electric oven to be the best arrangement for cooking because a gas hob is very controllable and you can turn the heat up to bring food to the boil very quickly. An electric oven, especially a fan assisted one, bakes food evenly. You might not be planning to cook any meals from scratch during your self-catering holiday but there may be occasions when you buy a ready-made pie to bake or meat for an Irish stew.

Cooking on holiday does not need to be limited to the kitchen, you may come across a traditional butcher who sells high quality sausages and lean steaks to grill on a barbecue. A holiday wouldn’t be half as enjoyable if a measure of good Irish food wasn’t included. It would be lovely to barbeque an outdoor banquet in the garden of your holiday home and even better if you had glorious rural or sea views.

A hearty home-cooked breakfast would set you up for the day, especially if a fair bit of walking whilst sightseeing is on the agenda. There is so much to see in Ireland and great experiences to enjoy. Self-catering holidays can be brilliant and good fun. Go foraging in the shops and markets of Ireland to find the very best local food and drink for your feast. We are sure that Guiness will feature somewhere during your break.
