Domecilia is an impressive large comfortable self-catering village house with the advantage of an outdoor heated swimming pool and a hot tub. The house stands in large lawned gardens, is capacious and sleeps up to 21 people. It is situated in Cosheston in South Wales not far from several rivers.
Guests find that they very quickly feel at home in this big rambling house. Although there may be a tussle for the lovely poster bedrooms so it's best to draw straws before arrival. This bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath. There is plenty of space on the other bedrooms which feature a mixture of doubles, singles and bunk beds.
At the heart of the house is the beautiful kitchen with traditional oak units, an incorporated wine rack, electric hob and oven and a table in the conservatory. There is a second smaller kitchen and a utility room. The big entrance hall also doubles as a dining area with a collection of tables café style.
The two sitting rooms have plenty of soft comfortable sofas and chairs giving people the choice of places to sit, talk and enjoy themselves.
The house in central heated plus there is the added warmth of a woodburner in one of the sitting rooms. There are extensive enclosed gardens with lawns, a patio, barbecue and garden furniture outside. This is a good choice of self-catering accommodation for any large group wanting to holiday in south Wales. The garden lends itself to summer parties and lunch al-fresco. Families with children could have a wonderful time here although care has to be taken with the pond. There is a cot, highchair and a stairgate available for any families with toddlers.
Families may wish to note that the Oakwood Theme Park is a mere 24 minute drive away. There are lots of fairly local places to visit including the medieval town of Pembroke, Upton Castle Gardens and Paskeston Hall Country House for an afternoon tea. Although secluded, this house is a rural haven and guests with cars can soon get to the coast, beaches and coastal paths.
The house may also suit groups of birdwatchers or walkers.
