The Granary is a charming cottage near to Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria and could be a great place for a group of friends to escape to. The cottage offers good quality accommodation and sleeps six people in two bedrooms. Facilities here include a fully-equipped farmhouse kitchen, decorated with warm earthy tones, a comfortable lounge, shower room with WC, one twin bedroom and one family room with 4 single beds. This property benefits from a number of original features including exposed crook beams which date back to the early 18th century. Located on a working farm and with views over the stunning Lune Valley, this is a charming rural retreat. Dogs are welcome and the Granary is three miles from the quaint market town of Kirkby Lonsdale and is ideal as a base for visiting the nearby Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The Lune Valley itself with the trickling River Lune is within walking distance and both are very picturesque and perfect for taking walks by or having a relaxing picnic with friends. There are three other cottages nearby which together sleep 22 (at extra cost) for bigger groups.

Recommended Attractions near Kirkby Lonsdale: Situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, mid way between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District is the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale. This charming and historic town was mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book and holds a market charter from the 13th Century. This market continues on a weekly basis every Thursday and offers a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive shops in the town as well as the many 17th and 18th Century buildings. The picturesque Lune Valley was popular with the artist Turner and is host to the medieval Devil's Bridge that spans the river. There is a wealth of quiet country lanes in the area that are ideal for exploring by car, bike or even on horseback. There are also a number of other activities including golf, tennis, riding, fishing as well as a variety of riverside and country walks.
