Forest House was until recently a popular 4* hotel and restaurant. The property has been superbly converted into self-catering accommodation perfect for large groups of holidaymakers, whether it be a family gathering for a special occasion, a group of outdoor-loving friends, a celebratory send off to married life for the all-important hen, or simply those of you who want to kick back and relax away from the rigours of your every day life. The owners really have catered for everyone!
The property has 11 bedrooms in total and can sleep up to 24 guests comfortably. 10 of the bedrooms have their own en suite, whilst on the ground floor of the property there is a suite comprising two bedrooms which are connected and share an en suite/disabled toilet. There is a small lounge and bar area, a separate games lounge, and a stunning dining room which can comfortably seat all of your guests. With the original chef's kitchen still in situ there is nothing more you could possibly need to cater for everyone during your stay, well except maybe the chef themselves! Outside is a beautifully maintained garden and patio area with seating and heaters, a BBQ, and a hot tub. Just perfect for relaxing in after a long day spent exploring the local area.
Forest House is in an ideal location for groups of keen walkers, cyclists, golfers, or just general lovers of the great outdoors to take in the stunning scenery and local attractions. You really could not find a more perfect property from which to explore the beautiful Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Bookings for family gatherings, hen parties and special celebrations welcome.

Recommended Attractions near Coleford: There are a wealth of attractions available to explorers within the Forest of Dean. Have a great day out at Puzzlewood - often used as a TV/Film location, including most recently for Star Wars - Clearwell Caves, Perrygrove Railway, or the International Centre for Birds of Prey. These are just a few, there are many many more!
Good places to visit near Coleford: Beechenhurst Lodge is just a short drive from the property and very popular with families. There is a play area and plenty of outside space for the small ones to run around safely, yet it is also home to the Sculpture Trail should you wish to stretch your legs and take in some of the unique works of art. You will also find Junior GoApe and a climbing wall (GoApe for adults is located on a site close by). There is a great cafe serving light lunches, hot meals and snacks, although you may wish to take a picnic or make use of one of the many BBQs available to hire on site. The picturesque village of Symonds Yat is just a short drive away. There are a few local attractions to while away a few hours, a maze, butterfly farm and crazy golf. Climb up to the top of Symonds Yat Rock and take in the breath-taking views, or just spend the day relaxing by the River watching the world go by. The market towns of Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Abergavenny are all just a short drive away, each with their own unique charm and plenty of shops, eateries and attractions. You are never far from a Castle in the Wye Valley - great days out can be had at Raglan and Goodrich Castles, the 'Three Castles' - Whitecastle, Grosmont and Skenfrith (you can even walk between them, all 18.6 miles!), and Tintern Abbey is simply stunning.

Good places to eat near Coleford: There are a number of pubs in Coleford town centre itself, and plenty of places to get a takeway - a great fish and chip shop, plus chinese, indian and pizza establishments. For finer dining you may wish to go further out of town. In nearby Clearwell you will find The Butcher's Arms, and a hotel called Tudor Farmhouse, both offering great food in a lovely location.
