Situated within its own sprawling 900 acre estate, the elegant Georgian Emmett's Grange is perfect for a large family holiday or special celebration. Furnished with traditional and beautiful features, Emmett's Grange provides the perfect mix of old-fashioned elegance and convenient modern luxury.
The views in all directions are spectacular, being the highest farm on Exmoor. The farm is still working and you will often see animals wandering about. Shooting, fishing, falconry and hunting can all be organised and you can even bring your own horse to be kept in our stables.
There are a number of musical instruments for you to practice on, alongside many other things to keep you entertained during your stay: a croquet lawn, tennis court and games room with a skittle alley, snooker table and table tennis.
The Victorian style conservatory is one of the Grange's best features, where you can enjoy the stunning views over Exmoor as you eat, and the children will love playing the Wii games console.
The traditional kitchen has a double fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and Aga. There is also a bar area, which is a great place to relax of an evening. The dining room offers an antique table for 12 and an open fire, perfect for a formal meal or special celebration. Catering is available on request.
The drawing room and library feature open fires and numerous interesting books, as well as a pool table. There is WiFi access, a fax machine and laundry facilities.
The first bedroom is a super king size, decorated to a very high level and with an en-suite bathroom and an additional single bed. The second bedroom has a beautiful four-poster bed, en-suite bathroom and a lovely window seat with sensational views over Exmoor.
The next bedroom is a cosy twin which overlooks the front courtyard, with another en-suite bathroom. The second twin bedroom can be set up as either a twin or double. The final bedroom can be made up with bunk beds or as a twin.
The upstairs family bathroom is very spacious.
The large garden ideal for outside dining with dramatic views over Exmoor. The Grange is the perfect base for exploring the stunning countryside, ideal for cycling, walking, shooting, fishing or simply walking the grounds and fields and enjoying a lovely picnic.

Recommended Attractions near Simonsbath: Emmett's Grange has more than 900 acres to explore by foot, bike or horse. There are excellent walks across Exmoor alongside the River Barle and through Barle Valley. En route you will see old caves and Cow Castle an Iron Age hill fort. Cycling from Emmett's Grange is easy as you are already at the highest point on Exmoor. The Sustrans routes will take you to Sandyway, Whitypool and Lanacre Bridge or head into Devon and cycle through Challacombe passing an ancient packhorse bridge. If you would prefer to enjoy water sports you won't be disappointed with windsurfing, rowing and sailing available at Wimbleball Lake near Dulverton or Whistlanpount Reservoir near Blackmoor Gate. For the more experience canoeist during the winter season you have the chance to tackle the River Barle or East Lyn River. A number of country pursuits can also be arranged in advance, including joining the local hunt groups, fishing and falconry. Other attractions in the area include the Cliff Railway at Lynton and Lynmouth, Dunster with its historic castle and Exmoor Zoo.
Good places to visit near Simonsbath: Lynton and Lynmouth are well worth a visit. Take the water powered cliff railway up the side of the cliff and visit the sister villages or walk the North Walk along to the Valley of the Rocks, home to a cricket club and the herd of feral goats. Dunster is a pretty Somerset village, which has a candlelit festival every December to celebrate Christmas, the rest of the year people walk its cobbled streets to browse its unique shops and enjoy the excellent cuisine on offer. Dunster also has a castle, owned by the National Trust and open to visitors. Other places well worth a day trip are Dulverton, Minehead, South Molton, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple.More about the Location:

Good places to eat near Simonsbath: The Exmoor Forest serves excellent food throughout with much of its meat and fish locally sourced. In Challaombe there is the Black Venus a very popular country pub, serving good home cooked food during the week and a lovely roast on Sunday. Other local pubs include the Poltimore Arms, The Sportsmans Inn and The White Horse.
