Other Holiday Rentals in West Sussex

Faygate is a hamlet in the Horsham district of West Sussex. It lies 3.4 miles south west of Crawley on the edge of the last remaining tracts of the once huge Wealden forest of Anderida. In Roman times the forest stretched for 120 miles in a broad swathe across south-east England. Today the forest is split up into seperate patches of thick woodland from which spring the sources of the rivers Ouse, Arun and Rother. Ashdown forest is the largest remaining of these, although other patches of this primeval woodland survive nearer at hand in the forests of St Leonards, Balcombe, Tilgate and Worth, once the haunts of highwaymen and smugglers. This area is very popular with walkers and golfers, positioned as it is on the edge of St Leonards forest and within a ring of prestigious golf courses.
