Coastal self catering holiday cottages in EnglandSelf-catering breaks on the English coast

England is a country with a lengthy,  interesting and varied coastline.  As an island, the coast is very well developed and offers a multitude of accommodation to rent; holiday cottages, chalets, bungalows, apartments.  There are harbours, marinas and the opportunity to sail or go on boat trips, fishing and of course, a beach holiday. Sea food restaurants also attract many holidaymakers. Whitstable on the south east coast is famous for its oyster beds and its streets are always full of tourists searching out fishy cuisine.

Book a coastal holiday home in the south west of England

The South West and its enchanting coastline continue to draw the tourists for summertime breaks. The counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset enjoy some of the warmest weather in England and it is common to find palms growing in gardens and along the seafront.   There is nothing nicer than a week in a holiday home overlooking the English Channel. The Isle of Wight lies off the coast of Southampton in the Channel and is known to be a holiday island, perfect for seaside breaks, friendly inhabitants and excellent beaches. The coastline around the South East of England offers diverse attractions from the white cliffs of Dover to sandy and pebble beaches.

Lots of good coastal resorts in the north of England

Up in the North of England, the Northumberland coastline with its castles and dramatic scenery is reputed to be one of the finest in the country.  Traditional northern seaside resorts such as Skegness and Scarborough continue to attract families and couples on romantic breaks.

One thing is for sure, when it comes to deciding whre to go for a self catering holiday in England by the coast, you could be spoilt for choice.
