Bacton is a friendly coastal village towards the north of Norfolk and features a quiet, sandy beach. If you would love a break where you can relax, stroll along the shoreline or even try spotting some grey seals, then Bacton beach is a fantastic choice. If travelling with children, they can build sandcastles or swim in the sea whilst you read a book, and if taking your dog, then a lot of the beach is dog friendly, although there are some restrictions on part of the beach during the summer months.

  • As well as the beach, Bacton is home to a cosy pub, a couple of cafes and a restaurant. It is a lovely little village to use as a base to explore other parts of Norfolk as well on your self-catering holiday, and day trips can be easily taken.

  • The popular seaside resort of Cromer is just ten miles along the coast from Bacton and is home to a pier with a traditional variety show in the Pavillion Theatre, a few museums, and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. Take the family out for a day during your Norfolk break.

  • Also close to Bacton is the capital of Norfolk, Norwich. If you and your loved ones want to take a day trip away from the coast on your cottage holiday break and visit a city, then Norwich is about a forty-minute drive away from the village. Norwich is set on the River Wensum and is a medieval city with cobbled streets - perfect to explore when on holiday in this beautiful part of the UK.
