Recommended Attractions near Llanbrynmair: This really is a lovely area, and although blissfully quiet there are lots of places to explore and many activities available locally; riding, walking, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes (great fun!), bird and badger watching, sailing, mountain biking around the lakes, golf, great beaches (Aberdovey, Barmouth, Harlech), Steam trains (Tallylyn, Welshpool to Llanfair Caereinion, Vale of Rheidol), Snowdonia National Park just 10 minutes by car, Cader Idris, Centre for Alternative Technology, castles & places of natural beauty and historic interest to visit.
Good places to visit near Llanbrynmair: Where do I begin??? Miles of fabulous beach at Aberdovey -35 mins in car, sea/lake/river fishing, wonderful peaceful walks in the hills and mountains locally (we are 10 minutes away by car from Snowdonia National Park, historic castles, 3,000 year old standing stones, golf, horse riding on beaches or in hills, white water rafting, mountain biking, Cader Idris close by, Centre for Alternative Technology. Only one hour and a quarter by car from Roman Chester or Medieval Shrewsbury, Devils Bridge, Elan Valley lakes, Red Kite watching at feeding farms, Aberystwyth Camera Obscura (three quarters of an hour by car), Powys Castle, Wildlife sancturaries (many), Harlech Castle, Port Merion, Port Madog, Dolgellau, Talyllyn Steam Railway, Corris Railway Museum, Craft Centres, Sea trips. We have guests who have been visiting annually for the last 19 years and they are still finding new things to do as well as their favourites. We are very happy to help point you towards our much loved and special places to visit.
More about the Location:Annual Events: Royal Welsh Show annually in July. International agricultural spectacular. Gregynog international Music Festival, week long musical extravaganza in historic surroundings, beautiful gardens. Apart from the Annual National Eisteddfod moveable sites and annual International Eisteddfod in Llangollen there are smaller Eisteddfodau that take place throughout the year. If you are interested please ask. We've just sung in the Powys, came 3rd. Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival in August. Llanbrynmair Village show held annually every August Bank Holiday Monday. Very small, very sweet and unsophisticated event with keenly contested horse, sheep,and horticultural events. Sports and vintage tractors plus stalls. Giant onions are a sight to behold.
Good places to eat near Llanbrynmair: Good pub meals at Aleppo Merchant in Carno just 10 mins away. Excellent food at the award winning Penhelig Arms Hotel in Aberdovey. Riverside Inn, Pennal. Both fabulous for special meals. Barlings Barn - we can arrange caterers who will prepare delicious food for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
