The charming and simple seaside town of Seaford is found on the south coast of England, between the larger seaside resorts of Brighton and Eastbourne.

The beach is pebble, so do bring beach shoes or it hurts to walk barefoot. A promenade runs behind it where people walk and cycle. This is a popular place to sit on one of the benches and watch the happenings on the beach and the yachts out at sea. A row of brightly coloured beach huts backs the beach near the Martello Tower and cliffs.

There are plenty of fishermen on the beach. Some set up tents for shelter as they spend several hours enjoying their sport. The beach is not ideal for families because of the lack of sand for children to play in.   Plenty of people still visit to walk along the beach, sail boats or to take the coastal path up and over the white chalk cliffs.

The quiet nature of Seaford is good for families who like the peace and lack of traffic. There are plenty of holiday homes to rent for a week or two in the summer or even weekend breaks. The local park has tennis courts and a swing park for some amusement.

The larger seaside towns of Brighton and Eastbourne are within easy driving distance for days out with a little more excitement. Other places to visit for interesting days out are Chichester, the sandy beaches of Littlehampton, Lewes where extravagant bonfire parades are held every 5th of November and historic Hastings where the battle took place in 1066.
