Swallow Cottage is a timber clad 5 star holiday home that sleeps up to five people close to the village of Bucknall in Shropshire. It is one of three semi-detached stone holiday cottages that have been created from the original Grade II listed period building. Because of their historic nature, the cottages have numerous exposed beams and a cosy country style. The central heating is oil fired with a supplementary electric wood burner set into the red brick fireplace in the sitting room if needed. Seating is conveniently arranged around the fire creating a pleasant place to sit and relax with family or friends in the evenings.
Swallow Cottage has a double, twin and single bedroom that sleep a maximum of five people. There is a baby's cot, highchair available by arrangement, also baby bedding.
This three bedroom holiday cottage is wonderful for families because it has a walled and fenced patio area with garden furniture where children can play safely. A barbecue is a welcome feature for family meals al fresco. There is a children's playground with swings and a sandpit close to the cottage.
Up to three vehicles can be parked on the driveway.
The village of Bucknall and Swallow Cottage are just 5 and a half miles away from the town of Knighton which skirts the English Welsh border. Knighton is home to the Offa's Dyke Centre and Tourist Information office and has riverside walks and a shallow river for paddling. Stand on the bridge over the River Teme to have a foot in both England and Wales at the same time.
Places to visit from this self-catering cottage are olde worlde Ludlow which has a castle and a varied programme of historical re-enactments, a farmer's market and plenty to see. Ironbridge Museum which children love, and the Shropshire Hills area of outstanding natural beauty for family picnics and rambles.
