Rent a stylish contemporary lodge for a coastal holiday near a fine beach in south west Scotland close to Dalbeattie. It would be wonderful to have a chance to escape to the coast, to walk along the sands and breathe easy.

The single storey self-catering lodges at the Coastal Kippford Holiday Park provide that opportunity. Stay in stylish and comfortable accommodation. This lodge has two bedrooms, a capacious open-plan living area, a private decked patio with a barbeque and garden furniture. Escape everyday life and plan a relaxing holiday with gentle walks, a bit of cycling, casual barbeques outside and whatever else makes you happy. The lodge sleeps four people in a double and a twin bedroom.

A huge 8-ring gas hob would be more than adequate to cook a feast for many rather than just the four people staying so this may attract passionate cooks who would love to create culinary masterpieces for their family on holiday. The pandemic unleashed an interest in food and cooking and perhaps some may like to take this forward. There is a fridge/freezer for food storage, a microwave and import for same, a coffee maker so that the aroma of an espresso or latte can greet you in the mornings.

Serve up your culinary creations on the modern glass and steel dining table that seats 4 in the living area. Afterwards, relax on the sofas and chairs in front of the large windows that look out onto the terrace and gardens. A TV hangs on the wall above an electric fire. Keep up with the news or your favourite soaps on holiday, or leave it switched off for complete tranquillity. The lodges have WiFi Internet so that you can remain as connected or unconnected as you wish.

Both bedrooms are very much hotel-style and have white bedlinen. The double bedroom features an en-suite shower room. A separate bathroom is fitted with a bath, overhead shower and the usual wash basin, heated towel rail and W.C.

The lodge is double glazed and centrally heated so that it is comfortable all year long.

Guests may bring up to two well-behaved dogs.

A walk around the village of Kippford nearby is a pleasant experience. It has a car park, or you could walk. See the sailing club, yacht club, nature reserve and attractive tree lined streets with cottages set behind stone walls. Walk along the waterfront where benches are set at intervals for where you could rest and admire the views. Dalbeattie Forest starts a few minutes walk from the accommodation, go mountain biking, for nature walks to spot red squirrels and owls. There are various opportunities for boating and fishing in the area, also watersports galore at the Galloway Activity Centre.
