There is a fridge/freezer for food storage, a microwave and import for same, a coffee maker so that the aroma of an espresso or latte can greet you in the mornings.

Afterwards, relax on the sofas and chairs in front of the large windows that look out onto the terrace and gardens. A TV hangs on the wall above an electric fire. Both bedrooms are very much hotel-style and have white bedlinen. The double bedroom features an en-suite shower room. A separate bathroom is fitted with a bath, overhead shower and the usual wash basin, heated towel rail and W.C.

The lodge is double glazed and centrally heated so that it is comfortable all year long.

A walk around the village of Kippford nearby is a pleasant experience. It has a car park, or you could walk. See the sailing club, yacht club, nature reserve and attractive tree lined streets with cottages set behind stone walls. Walk along the waterfront where benches are set at intervals for where you could rest and admire the views. Dalbeattie Forest starts a few minutes walk from the accommodation, go mountain biking, for nature walks to spot red squirrels and owls. There are various opportunities for boating and fishing in the area, also watersports galore at the Galloway Activity Centre.
