A group of traditional stone-built country cottages stands within the shelter of a hundred acre walled estate in the LLyn Peninsula in north Wales. This area is known for its outstanding natural beauty, streams and waterfalls, close to Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia.
The holiday cottages are pet-friendly which is ideal for dog walkers since there is countryside all around and riverside walks where it is possible to spot otters at play.
Inside, the cottages display old world charm and cosiness, with arrays of oak beams on the ceiling, feature stone walls and a large wood burner radiating its heat around the living and split level dining room. Additional electric panel radiator heating keeps the cottages cosy.
Downstairs in the cottage
Each cottage has four bedroom and two bathrooms and can happily accommodate eight to ten people. Situated on the ground floor is a double and a twin bedroom, a family bathroom and the living accommodation and kitchen.
A double bedroom, a twin bedroom with adult-sized bunk beds is on the upper floor. A shower room and W.C. is also accommodated upstairs.
The Cottage Garden
Each cottage has a small private garden with a patio, BBQ and garden furniture at the rear. It is a convenient and pleasant spot to enjoy a rest in the sunshine.
Good family accommodation
These cottages two miles outside Criccieth are ideal for families with young children that might revel in spotting otters and going for nature treks. Fishing for sea trout and salmon is also possible. Parts of the river near the cottages are shallow enough to allow children to paddle and enjoy splashing safely in the water. There are ducks to be fed and various species of birdsto recognise.
Facilities on-site include an adventure playground for children, a tennis court and giant outdoor chess. Another attraction is the menagerie of animals to stroke and feed.

Recommended Attractions near Chwilog: The beaches of the Lyn Peninsula and Cardigan Bay are enormous attarctions in this part of north Wales. Holidaymakers can easily drive to a choice of beaches, both busy seaside resorts and small secluded beaches. The Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away. Lots of tourist events and places to sightsee.
Good places to visit near Chwilog: The Llyn Peninsula is famous for its abundance of spring flowers and stunning coastal scenery - spring breaks are highly recommended. Lots of places of interest not too far away, in addition to the fabulous beaches of Cardigan Bay. Visit the Italian inspired village of Portmeirion and perhaps purchase some pottery as a souvenir. Snodonia is virtually on the doorstep for lots of photographic opportunities and good walking. The area abounds in tea shops that serve Welsh fare.
