Self catering holidays in Eastern Madeira

Embark on a self-catering escape in Eastern Madeira and explore its mesmerizing, secluded coastline. Following your arrival at Madeira's airport, the island's East greets you with its distinct, rugged beauty. Discover the ecological park at Prainha, perfect for adventurous coastal walks—but exercise caution, as the terrain can be challenging and is not suitable for children. While Eastern Madeira lacks the bustling attractions of Funchal, its tranquility and stunning ocean views offer a peaceful retreat, ideal for those seeking a quiet getaway amid nature’s raw beauty. Proper walking boots and gear are essential for safe exploration.

Oops there is a sad lack of availability in Eastern Madeira at present.

Please consider taking a look at alternative self-catering accommodation in Madeira?

We recommend that you try our advanced Cottage Search facility to enter your basic essentials such as occupancy, tourist board grading, garden required and so on. This will display a list of possible holiday rentals. Next, refine the list by adding any other features that might be of secondary importance such as near a pub or central heating.

Madeira’s airport is in the East of the island so on your arrival in Madeira for your self catering holiday you will get a feel for this part of the island.  The coastline further past the airport in the most Easterly part of the island is interesting and attractive and takes the form of an interesting thin coastline which stretches out to sea.  At Prainha in the very east there is an ecological park and you can enjoy coastal walks.  Take great care when walking here though.  It is recommended that you wear proper walking boots and take a walking pole.  This part of the island is no place for children.  There are amazing coastal views but a shocking lack of barriers making it a treacherous place for children and even adults must keep their wits about them and take great care.

The eastern part of the island is attractive enough but lacks the attractions of other parts of Madeira such as Funchal.  If you are looking to a holiday in a part of Madeira though which is reasonably quiet you may be attracted to the east of Madeira.
