Located in the scenic Derbyshire Dales, at the edge of the magnificent Peak District National Park, our two, luxury gold and silver award winning, self-catering holiday cottages, sit in peaceful, private rural locations amidst large, beautifully landscaped gardens and lush pastureland. They are not on the same site and are located 5 miles apart.
We welcome families, parties wanting that special celebration, hen parties and large groups. These fabulous cottages are the perfect base in which to explore all that Derbyshire and the Peak District have to offer, with lots of exciting things to see and do, a host of historic properties to visit that are either private, National Trust or English Heritage and some amazing walking and cycling opportunities for all ages and abilities.
Both cottages have the opportunity to use our hot tubs and at Billys Bothy we have a sauna and a games room with a full-size snooker table that are available by arrangement.
These two stunning cottages are both Grade II listed properties and have many historic features. With ancient beams throughout, revealed stone and brick walls with exposed timbers and stunning character windows enhance these lovely cottages. There are beautiful inglenook fireplaces at Hillside Croft and cosy log fires at both properties, which along with full central heating they are always warm and welcoming at all times of the year. Wood is provided for your use.
The large landscaped gardens have patio furniture, fire pits and solid Fuel BBQ’s and lots of space to relax or play surrounded by flowers and nature at your door. If you like birds then bring those binoculars.
There is ample, safe and private off- road car parking for all of our guests.
All linen, towels, utilities, wood for the stoves and free Wi fi is provided at both cottages.
Pampering and catering can be arranged at either cottage to make your stay memorable at either cottage.
There are facilities for Intimate Corporate events at Billys Bothy and facilities include WiFi, projector and screen plus whiteboard.
We are now hosting wedding receptions with two stunning sites to choose from at Offcote Grange. Your will be the sole hirer of the site and we will work closely with you to create the wedding of your dreams. Suitable for Tipis, Yurts and Marquees.
Should you wish to bring your horse and explore some of the many green lanes in the area then fields and water are available, sorry no stabling.
We are sorry but we do not accept pets and aim to be allergy friendly in our properties with all bedding being hypoallergenic.
Each of our luxury cottages sleeps from 10 to 14 and it is possible to sleep up to 16 by arrangement. Billy’s Bothy has five bedrooms with an option of a 6th annex bedroom all of which are en-suite and Hillside Croft has 5 bedrooms with two bathrooms with 3 WC. Two travel cots are provided at each cottage.
This former historic barn is built of handmade local red bricks with an abundance of pine beams and exposed brick walls throughout. The ground floor windows arch elegantly over former sty openings. This unusual self- catering cottage has 2 ground floor double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom - all en-suite. Two more bedrooms on the first floor are double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower and the other with an en suite bathroom. The total sleeping capacity is for 10 plus 4. An extra 6th en-suite annex bedroom can be hired which adjoins the cottage, giving sleeping for 16 if required and up to 18 by arrangement. The lounge has a double, quality bed settee, with private entrance to the shared en-suite bathroom. Bedrooms all have LCD TVs and WI FI.
The cottage entrance is on the ground floor, in the centre of the cottage, elegant oak stairs lead to up to a fabulous galleried kitchen. A second entrance avoiding use of the stairs, is perfect for the elderly or infirm to use and gives access via the patio area to the lounge, dining room, kitchen and 2 en suite bedrooms.
Handmade pine units with granite worktops feature in the kitchen with a pottery Belfast sink, it is extremely well equipped and a joy to use to prepare those special meals during your holiday. One of the advantages of a self catering holiday is having all the wine and nice things you would like to eat on holiday in the comfort of your holiday home.
The spacious lounge with a wood burner stove is on the first floor and opens out through an impressive oak framed doorway onto a patio with a cottage garden and well stocked orchard. Chill out in the garden where leisure furniture is provided for your comfort and a barbecue is available for informal meals in the sunshine. For those cooler nights a fire pit is provided There are four large and comfortable sofas in the lounge with enough seating for the entire group. Watch our large screen smart TV with Freeview or bring films on DVD to watch, an IPOD dock and radio are also provided.
Dine with family and friends around the large dining table in the separate dining room. Two highchairs are available for our younger guests.
There are extensive large landscaped gardens to explore with a large nature lake full of wildlife, our cheeky donkeys will welcome you, along with our chickens.
Dating back to 1709 this original, beautiful, historic cottage is a delight with heavy oak beams, inglenook fireplaces, revealed stone and timber walls and pretty stone mullioned and leaded windows- a picture postcard cottage set within six 6 acres of lovely gardens and private pastureland.
The cottage has 5 bedrooms with comfortable beds and handmade antique pine furniture. There are 4 double bedrooms, three of which also have single beds within them and 1 twin bedroom. There are also 2 comfortable single bed chairs within the bedrooms which can be used by arrangement. The master bedroom is en suite with power shower and there is a fabulous contemporary, master bathroom which has a second shower and beautiful roll topped bath. There are 3 WC. Two bedrooms have televisions.
The comfortable lounge and dining rooms are a delight with cosy log stoves set under feature fireplaces. Full of character, this cottage has charm and history with all the modern comforts and facilities. A large flat screen smart TV, DVD Player and CD/Radio are provided. Wi FI and payphone are also provided.
The farmhouse style kitchen has handmade pine units with tiled and granite worktops and a double Belfast pottery sink. It is extremely well equipped with all you will need for creating the meals for your stay.
A private hot tub at the rear of the property alongside the patio furniture and fire pit/BBQ are provided for your enjoyment. The grounds are gated and secure for children along with enough private car parking for all guests.

Historic houses abound with Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Sudbury Hall with its musem of Childhood, Bolsover Castle, Tutbury Castle, Perveril Castle and the timeless Calke Abbey to explore. Annual Events: February - Royal Shrovetide Football, July - Ashbourne Festival, In early summer June and July there are traditional Peak District well dressings, steam engine rallies and family days. Village carnivals, Arts Festivals, Farmers Markets abound, Ashbourne Agricultural Show in August and many other country shows throughout the year. Visit the snowdrop gardens, Rhodedendron Gardens and the many open gardens in the area a delight for garden enthusiasts. We now have the RHS gardens at Chatsworth House, to add to its many other events.
